Ignite your light: aligned intention setting workshop

Video here

My intention for today is to go deep on a journey together through meditation and journaling where we will connect as a group, and you will celebrate and reflect on 2022, and then create your 2023 intentions from a place of deep alignment and abundance mindset.

The steps and journal prompts that I took you through in this workshop are:

  1. Reflection on the past year:

What has brought me joy and fulfilment this year?

What have I learnt this year?

Find all of the celebrations and lessons, including those that have come from tough times, mistakes and moments of misalignment.

  2. Looking forwards:

What do I want to call in for 2023?

What do I want to open my heart to in 2023?

Capture everything that is coming up that you desire.

  3. Identifying your intention:

Then read through your list and feel into the energy of each - make sure that they all feel aligned and from a place of desire, and there are no “should’s” in there.

From the place of alignment and connection, see if one word downloads in your mind that sets an overarching intention for next year. It’s a word that you will live by in 2023 - to invite as much of this energy in.

  4. Setting an action plan:

What is standing in the way of my 2023 intentions?

What fears, limiting beliefs or behaviours / habits do I have that are standing in my way?

What do I need to let go of in 2023?

What steps can I take, starting now to get a head start on this NY intention?

Identify any actions to invite more of this energy in everyday. What is my ripple effect on the world of this intention?

How does it create my two way energy with this world that gives and receives? What is my commitment to give back in 2023?

winter solstice RITUALS & journal prompts

The Winter Solstice is a powerful day for stillness, rest, reflection and hope. As nature has retreated inwards as we enter into winter as an essential slowing down to allow for maximum birth, rebirth and growth come spring - so too are we as human called to align into the rhythms of nature that we are so deeply interconnected to.

If you want to connect into the rhythms of nature this Winter Solstice, here are some rituals and journal prompts to honour yourself and the natural world around you:

1. Honour the sun:

  • The Winter Solstice signals the return of the light and the days getting longer - bringing themes of hope for the future and the potential that this light will bring come spring and summer.

  • On every Solstice, I spend as much time out in nature - walking and connecting to the sun at sunrise, lunchtime and sunset.

2. Give back to nature:

  • In order to receive, we must give. Show gratitude for Mother Nature on the solstice by doing something to show your gratitude for all of your plant, fungi and animal friends.

  • I love litter picking, tending to the garden, offering seed blessings for the birds and building a nature alter.

3. Allow yourself to rest deeply wherever you are able to:

  • Winter is about rest and restoration for you and your energy. After a year with such growth and hard work, allow yourself the time to fall into stillness and receive.

  • It is important that you allow this time for your mind, body and soul to rest, so that you can enter the new year rejuvenated and ready for your next challenge.

4. Reflect on the past - journal prompts:

  • Take advantage of the longest night to go inwards and reflect on the year that has been. Celebrate you and the journey that you have been on, plus look at your lessons, growth and anything that you still need to let go of.

  • Journal prompts:

    • What have I harvested this year? List all of your successes and areas of growth and development since the last Winter Solstice. Reflect on who you were a year ago versus now and honour your transformation as you moved in rhythm with the seasons.

    • What light has been shining in my life in this past year? Where do I find joy, love, inspiration and support?

    • Facing into the darkness and your shadow. What do I need to let go of, repair or give some TLC to in order to grow?

5. Dream for the future - journal prompts:

  • Look forwards to what is to come in 2023 - allow yourself to dream and set intentions for the future. But don't spring into action just yet, remember that this period of rest is just as important as when spring comes and you fly into action.

  • Journal prompts: use the prompts from our Aligned Intentions workshop above to reflect on the past year and set your intention for the year ahead, and then go deeper by asking yourself:

    • As the light returns and the new solar cycle begins, what seeds would I like to plant in spring?

    • What words describe the energy and feelings that I want to call in?

    • What is most important to me in life?

    • What do I really, really want to achieve?

    • What if there were no limits, what would I do? Allow yourself to dream big and limitless.

    • What actions can I take, starting from today, to take me on the first steps towards my intention and dreams for 2023?

I hope you have a magical and deeply connected Solstice! Enjoy the rest, stillness and reflection xx
